Lutheran Church hosted 25 bicyclists of the Global Agents for Change

At the end of June, the Coastside Lutheran Church played host to 25 bicyclists traveling from Vancouver, BC to Tijuana, Mexico representing the Global Agents for Change.  All the riders were under the age of 30 and dedicated to raising money to provide micro-credits through www.kiva.com.  These micro-credits provide loans to people in over thirty countries who cannot otherwise get loans to start small family businesses in an effort to become self sufficient.  Typically these entrepreneurs do not have a credit history.

At the end of the presentation given by the bicyclists (Global Agents for Change), they presented our church with a $100.00 donation to put towards micro-credits on www.kiva.com for a business venture that appealed to us.  We decided to put it towards a business that had to do with feeding people, which is in line with the global cause of the Lutheran Church this year.

These bicyclists were wonderful, appreciative guests who were striving to make a change in the world.  Anyone can contribute to this same cause by going to www.kiva.com and donating money for loans in increments of $25.00 or more.  This program has an incredible success record and is a very worthy cause.
